Last night in King's Promotion "Pain on Penn St." Anthracite CC fighters gave it their all. In the first MMA fight of the night ACC fighter Pat Paulo improved his record to 3-1-1 by securing a unanimous decision over Matt Nieves of Team Quit Storm. Matt proved to be a worthy opponent by landing some solid strikes from the stand up. During the three round bout Pat secured holds which resulted in effective takedowns. Pat controlled the ground and secured the win.
In the fourth MMA bout of the night, undefeated ACC fighter Nat Hasara faced off against Eric Steppe of Vicious MMA. Eric also brought an undefeated record into the contest. This was arguably the fight of the night with both fighters squaring off and going toe to toe for most of the fight. Entering the third round it was to close to call. Up until this point both landed devastating shots from the stand up and both had each other in trouble on the ground at some point. The third round started as the first two with Eric pushing forward and throwing heavy hands. Nat landing the more effective strikes, took the fight to the ground and secured back control. Shortly after, Nat sunk in the rear naked choke and enjoyed another hard earned victory.
The final fight of the night matched ACC fighter Jim Gerner and Tony Williams of Team Quit Storm. Jim was immediately taken out of his game with the crisp hands of Tony. After landing several clean shots Tony controlled a clinch and took Jim to the mat. Tony established mount then transitioned to rear mount control where he secured a rear naked choke. Jim fought off the submission attempt only to find himself on the receiving end of another effective strike from the stand up. Tony earned a well deserved win via TKO. This was Jim's first taste of defeat in the sport of MMA. Jim will be back in the gym working on his game and returning to his winning ways.
Words cannot describe how proud I am of our team. All are working harder than ever which will provide success in all of their endeavors. I thank you all. JW
